Bolu Abant İzzet Baysal University Faculty of Tourism, Department of Gastronomy and Culinary Arts hosted a conference titled “The Future of Gastronomy and Creativity in the Kitchen”. The conference was moderated by the Head of the Department Assoc. Prof. Dr. Alper Kurnaz and Gastronometro Executive Trainer Chef Murat İlke Özipek. The conference, which was attended by the faculty members and students of Gastronomy and Culinary Arts and Mengen Vocational School as well as the teachers and students of Mengen Chefs Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School, focused on modern agricultural practices, developing food technologies, sustainability and the creativity of chefs. The conference ended after the question and answer session. On behalf of the Gastronomy and Culinary Arts Community, Chef Murat İlke Özipek was presented with 3 sapling certificates donated to the Tema Foundation by the head of the department, Assoc. Prof. Alper Kurnaz. The event provided an important platform for those who aim to advance in the field of gastronomy. In addition, a promise was received from chef Murat İlke Özipek for an event in May where a kitchen workshop on waste-free cuisine will be held.
